Strophomenides
Strophomenides is a genus of small, marine, bivalve mollusks belonging to the family Veneridae. The genus was first described by the French naturalist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck in 1818. Strophomenides species are characterized by their small, oval-shaped shells with a smooth, glossy surface. The shells are typically less than 2 centimeters in length and have a distinctive, slightly curved hinge line.
The genus is found in shallow marine environments, often in areas with soft, muddy substrates. Strophomenides
