Strengir is a term used in fantasy fiction and role-playing games to denote a class of ancient, magical artifacts reputed to grant enhanced strength and resilience to their bearer. In many settings, strengir are described as forged by legendary smiths or bound to spirits, and the name is often linked to languages of ancient northern peoples; while evocative, it is a fictional construct rather than a real-world term.

Typical strengir are made from rare metals or alloys and bear runes or glyphs that channel power. They usually require ritual attunement, alignment with the bearer’s will, or completion of a quest or test before their magic awakens. Effects range from increased physical strength or stamina to heightened endurance, hardened skin, or brief invulnerability. Each strengr is commonly unique, tied to a particular hero, clan, or epoch within the narrative.
