In everyday furniture terminology, stolik kawowy denotes a coffee table placed in front of a sofa. Stoliki nocne or stoliki przy łóżku are nightstands positioned beside a bed to hold lamps, clocks, and small items. Stolik boczny, or side tables, provide additional surface near seating. Some designs combine a stolik kawowy with storage or a lower shelf for magazines and remote controls.
