Staureduzierende refers to measures, policies, or technologies that reduce traffic congestion in urban and regional transport networks. The term describes interventions intended to lower the frequency, duration, and severity of traffic jams, and is used in transport planning to categorize a broad range of actions that improve mobility.

Examples of staureduzierende measures include adaptive traffic signal control and coordinated signal timing to improve corridor flow; ramp metering; enhancement of public transit services, including bus rapid transit and high-occupancy vehicle lanes; road network optimization; and improvements in incident management. Demand-management approaches such as congestion pricing, parking policy reforms, carpool incentives, flexible work hours, and support for teleworking can also have staureduzierende effects by shifting or reducing peak demand. Information-based strategies, including real-time travel information and dynamic route guidance, help travellers avoid or spread peak congestion.
