Stateoriented is an adjective used to describe policies, strategies, or actors that prioritise the role of the state in governance and the economy. It denotes an emphasis on public provision, state regulation, and state-led decision making, as opposed to solutions driven primarily by markets or private actors. The term is often written as state-oriented or state oriented in some sources, and stateoriented appears in others as a combined form.

In political science and economics, stateoriented approaches are contrasted with market-oriented or liberal approaches. The term describes contexts where government planning, public investment, industrial policy, regulatory frameworks, and public ownership are central to achieving development goals or social welfare.
