Standaardteling

Standaardteling is a Dutch term that translates roughly to standard counting. In general, it denotes the use of a fixed, agreed-upon method for counting items or events within a domain, with the aim of ensuring comparability and reproducibility of results.

The concept is applied across several fields. In inventory management, it denotes counting stock using uniform units and counting rules so quantities can be aggregated and compared across locations. In education, it can be connected to the conventional base-10 counting system and the standard sequence of natural numbers taught as the baseline method of counting.
