Språkr

Språkr is a constructed language (conlang) designed for international communication and educational use. It originated in the early 21st century as part of the growing interest in planned languages. The project is community-driven, with contributions from linguists, educators, and hobbyists around the world.

Phonology and orthography: Språkr uses a Latin-based alphabet with 26 letters. The vowel system includes five basic vowels; vowel length is not phonemic. Consonants are broadly similar to those found in many European languages. Stress is typically on the penultimate syllable, and phonotactics favour open syllables.

Grammar: Språkr has an analytic, largely SVO word order. Nouns do not inflect for gender; there are definite and indefinite articles. Verbs are regular and conjugate for tense and mood by suffixes; there are no irregular verb forms. Adjectives follow nouns and agree in number via a plural marker. Plurals are indicated with the suffix -n.

Vocabulary: The lexicon blends Romance- and Germanic-derived roots with a set of neologisms designed for international understanding. Borrowings from other languages are adapted to Språkr phonology with transparent spelling.

Usage and community: Språkr has an active online community that produces dictionaries, reader texts, and learning materials. It is used in international education projects, online media, and some works of fiction, but it has no official status.
