Springdæmpers

Springdæmpers, often referred to as shock absorbers, are mechanical devices designed to control and dissipate the energy of springs. In vehicles, they are a crucial component of the suspension system, working in conjunction with springs to provide a smooth and controlled ride. Without springdæmpers, a vehicle would bounce excessively after encountering bumps or dips in the road, leading to instability and discomfort.

As the piston moves, the fluid is forced through small orifices, creating resistance. Gas-charged springdæmpers are another variant that uses pressurized gas to assist in damping. The effectiveness of a springdæmper is often described by its damping force, which is the resistance it provides to the movement of the spring.
