Spermatoosoids
Spermatoosoids, more commonly known as sperm cells or spermatozoa, are the male gametes produced in the testes of animals. They are microscopic, motile cells responsible for fertilizing the female ovum (egg cell) to initiate the process of reproduction. A mature sperm cell consists of a head, a midpiece, and a tail. The head contains the haploid nucleus, carrying the male's genetic material, and an acrosome, a cap-like structure filled with enzymes essential for penetrating the egg. The midpiece is packed with mitochondria, providing the energy required for the tail's movement. The tail, or flagellum, is a whip-like appendage that propels the sperm through the female reproductive tract.
