Soojusenergiatöötlus, also known as heat treatment, is a general term for a combination of industrial processes involving the use of controlled heating and cooling to alter the physical and sometimes chemical properties of materials. The primary goal of soojusenergiatöötlus is to improve a material's performance, such as its strength, hardness, toughness, ductility, or electrical conductivity, without changing its shape. This is achieved by manipulating the material's microstructure, which refers to the arrangement of atoms and phases within the material.
