SomaliBritish refers to individuals of Somali ancestry who hold British citizenship, belong to the Somali diaspora community in the United Kingdom, or otherwise maintain strong cultural and social ties to both Somalia and Britain. The community emerged in the late 20th century, largely as refugees fleeing the civil war that erupted in 1991.
