Solkraftværker

Solkraftværker, also known as solar power plants or solar farms, are facilities designed to harness solar energy and convert it into electricity. These power plants utilize photovoltaic (PV) panels or concentrated solar power (CSP) technology. PV panels directly convert sunlight into electricity through the photovoltaic effect, where photons from sunlight strike semiconductor materials and release electrons. CSP systems, on the other hand, use mirrors or lenses to concentrate sunlight onto a receiver, heating a fluid to produce steam, which then drives a turbine to generate electricity.

The construction of solkraftværker involves large arrays of solar panels or mirrors, along with inverters to convert direct current (DC) electricity generated by PV panels into alternating current (AC) electricity suitable for the grid. CSP systems also require significant infrastructure for fluid circulation, steam generation, and power generation. These facilities are typically built in areas with high solar irradiance, often in deserts or open fields, to maximize energy capture.
