Snurfers
A Snurfer is a type of recreational board that predates the modern snowboard. Developed by Sherman Poppen in 1965, it was essentially a children's toy designed to allow them to slide down snow-covered hills. Poppen's invention combined two skis placed side-by-side with a rope attached to the front for steering. He initially called his creation the "Snurfer," a portmanteau of "snow" and "surfer."
