Snailderived is a term used to describe materials, compounds, or products obtained from snails, including their secretions, tissues, or metabolic byproducts. The most common snail-derived material in commercial use is snail mucin, the secretion produced by terrestrial snails as they move. Snail mucin is typically sourced from cultivated land snails, such as Helix aspersa or Helix pomatia, and may be collected through non-lethal milking or processing of shed mucus.
