Sivaguru
Sivaguru, born as Chidambaram Pillai, was an Indian philosopher, social reformer, and spiritual leader, born on January 18, 1828, in the village of Kallumalai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is best known for his contributions to the revival of Hinduism and the establishment of the Sivagiri Mutt, a monastic community dedicated to the worship of Shiva. Sivaguru's teachings emphasized the importance of self-realization, spiritual discipline, and the practice of yoga. He believed in the unity of all religions and advocated for the abolition of caste and gender discrimination. Sivaguru's influence extended beyond India, with followers and admirers in various countries. He passed away on September 15, 1915, at the age of 87. His teachings continue to inspire many people around the world, and his legacy is celebrated through various festivals and events.
