Sisäoviin

Sisäoviin, also known as Internal pianos or Silent pianos, are specialized acoustic pianos designed to minimize sound emission. These pianos, manufactured by Steingraeber & Söhne in Germany, are primarily used in sound-sensitive areas such as residential spaces or professional settings requiring low noise levels.

The primary mechanism that distinguishes Sisäoviin from standard acoustic pianos lies in the way the pedals are manipulated by the player, allowing them to produce a significantly reduced sound level without substantial loss of the instrument's musical expression. These specially designed pianos capture the mechanical movement of the actions (key hammers striking the strings) and re-channel the sound through speakers, allowing the player to practice or play without making much noise.
