Sisselaskerõhku

Sisselaskerõhku, often translated as intake manifold pressure or boost pressure, refers to the pressure of the air-fuel mixture entering the engine's cylinders. In naturally aspirated engines, this pressure is typically at or slightly below atmospheric pressure. However, in forced induction systems like turbochargers or superchargers, the engine's intake manifold pressure is artificially increased beyond atmospheric levels.

This elevated pressure, known as boost, forces more air into the combustion chamber, allowing for more fuel to be injected and consequently, a more powerful explosion. The amount of sisselaskerõhku is a critical parameter for engine performance and management. It is influenced by factors such as the size and efficiency of the turbocharger or supercharger, engine speed, throttle position, and exhaust backpressure.

Excessive sisselaskerõhku can lead to engine damage if not properly managed, as it increases the stress on internal components. Therefore, modern engines equipped with forced induction systems often incorporate wastegates or blow-off valves to regulate and limit the maximum boost pressure. Monitoring and controlling sisselaskerõhku is essential for optimizing power output, fuel efficiency, and engine longevity.
