Siln

Siln is a city and municipal district in the eastern part of Ardentia. Located along the Siln River, it serves as the administrative center of the Siln District and functions as a regional commercial and cultural hub. The city covers roughly 74 square kilometers and has a population of about 86,000 residents. Its historic core preserves medieval streets alongside solar-powered public spaces and a growing district for startups.

Siln traces its origins to a medieval trading post established on the river, expanding into a market town in the 12th century. The arrival of rail in the 19th century spurred industrial growth, making textiles and later light manufacturing central to its economy. After a phase of diversification in the late 20th century, growth stabilized.

Today the economy is diversified, with manufacturing, logistics, and services as major sectors. Large employers include Siln Textiles, a regional logistics hub, and the Siln University research campus. The river port and rail links sustain regional trade, while the city pursues eco-friendly development initiatives.

Siln is governed by a mayor-council system. The elected mayor leads a city council responsible for planning, budgeting, and public services. It operates within Ardentia's national framework and participates in intercity collaborations on culture, transport, and sustainable development.

Key educational institutions include Siln University and a technical college offering engineering and health sciences programs. Cultural life centers on museums, theaters, and an annual River Festival featuring music, crafts, and maritime events.
