Siebenbürgen
Siebenbürgen, or Transylvania, is a historical region in central Romania. The German name Siebenbürgen means “Seven Fortresses” and refers to seven fortified towns established by Transylvanian Saxons in the Middle Ages, which became symbols of the region’s German-speaking communities.
