Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, widely known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala, was an Indian singer, rapper, songwriter, and politician associated with Punjabi music and cinema. He gained prominence in the late 2010s with his distinctive style of music, which often blended traditional Punjabi folk elements with modern hip-hop. Moose Wala's lyrics frequently touched upon themes of rural life, social issues, and bravado, resonating with a large youth audience.

Born in the village of Moosa in Punjab, India, he began his music career by writing songs for other artists before launching his own singles. His track "So High" in 2017 is considered a significant turning point in his career, establishing him as a major force in the Punjabi music industry. He went on to release several hit songs and albums, including "PBX 1" and "Moosetape," which achieved widespread commercial success both in India and internationally.

Beyond music, Moose Wala ventured into politics, joining the Indian National Congress party in December 2021 and contesting the Punjab Legislative Assembly election in 2022. His political career was brief. Tragically, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot and killed in his village in May 2022.
