Shortchain

Shortchain is a term used across several disciplines to describe a chain or sequence of limited length. It is commonly applied to molecules, data structures, and information flow to emphasize brevity and scope.

In chemistry, short-chain molecules typically refer to hydrocarbons with a small number of carbon atoms, often methane (C1) through hexane (C6).
