Shoqate

Shoqate is a term in the Albanian language used to denote an organized group formed by individuals who share a common purpose or interest. In everyday use, shoqatë refers to clubs, societies, committees, or other non-profit organizations. It conveys the idea of a collective with a defined structure rather than a casual gathering.

In Albanian-speaking regions such as Albania, Kosovo, and parts of North Macedonia, the word appears in compound names such as shoqata kulturore (cultural association) or shoqata sportive (sports association). The form without diacritics, shoqate, is common in writing and media.

Legal status: In many jurisdictions, a shoqatë is a recognized civil society organization, typically registered with authorities to operate as a non-profit entity, with bylaws, a governing board, and the capacity to manage funds and enter into contracts.
