SharpKeys

SharpKeys is a free Windows utility that allows users to remap keyboard keys. It functions by writing mappings to the Windows Registry, specifically to the Scancode Map key. This means that once a key is remapped, it remains remapped for all users on the system until the registry entry is removed or modified. The software provides a graphical interface for selecting keys to remap and their desired new functions. Users can map one key to another, or disable a key entirely by mapping it to "Turn Key Off".

The primary use case for SharpKeys is to customize keyboard layouts to suit individual preferences or to circumvent issues with specific keys. After making changes, a system restart is necessary for the remapping to take effect.
