ShareLaTeX

ShareLaTeX was a collaborative online LaTeX editor. It allowed multiple users to work on the same LaTeX document simultaneously in real-time, similar to how Google Docs functions for plain text documents. The platform aimed to simplify the process of creating and managing LaTeX projects, especially for groups or individuals who preferred a web-based solution over a local installation of LaTeX.

In 2017, ShareLaTeX merged with Overleaf, another popular online LaTeX editor. Following the merger, the ShareLaTeX brand and service were gradually phased out, with users encouraged to migrate their projects to Overleaf. The combined entity, now solely known as Overleaf, continues to offer a comprehensive platform for collaborative scientific and academic writing using LaTeX. The legacy of ShareLaTeX lives on through the features and user base that were integrated into Overleaf.
