Shakllantirgan

Shakllantirgan is a participial form used in Uzbek grammar derived from the verb shakllantirish, which means to shape, form, or design. It functions as an attributive or relative participle, indicating that the noun it modifies is associated with a shaping action carried out by someone. In practice, shakllantirgan can be translated as “that has shaped” or, in a noun phrase, as “the shaper” or “the designer,” depending on context.

Morphology and use. Shakllantirgan is formed by taking the stem shakllantir- and adding the past active participle suffix -gan. The result is used to describe a noun with a completed shaping action, often in a descriptive or formal register. It typically appears in attributive position, preceding the noun it modifies, and can agree with that noun in number and case as part of the larger noun phrase.

Examples. Shakllantirgan dizayn bozor talablarga mos keldi. This design, shaped by the designer, matched market requirements. Shakllantirgan odam loyihada boshqalardan farqli qarorlar qabul etdi. The person who shaped the project made distinctive decisions. These examples illustrate how shakllantirgan introduces a relative sense, linking the noun to the shaping action performed earlier.

Semantic notes. Shakllantirgan carries a sense of completed shaping and often implies agency by an unspecified or named actor. It is more common in formal or written Uzbek and can be replaced by other relative constructions in casual speech.
