Shadowmoon

Shadowmoon is a fictional location featured in the Warcraft universe, primarily known from the game World of Warcraft. It is a desolate and war-torn land located on the planet Draenor. Originally, Shadowmoon Valley was the ancestral homeland of the orc clans, particularly the Shadowmoon clan, led by the shaman Ner'zhul.

The landscape of Shadowmoon is characterized by dark, rocky terrain, sparse vegetation, and a perpetually overcast sky. Jagged mountains, deep canyons, and corrupted rivers define its topography. The region is heavily influenced by fel magic, a consequence of the orcs' corruption by the Burning Legion. This corruption has twisted the land, creating areas of dark, shadowy energy and harboring dangerous creatures.

Historically, Shadowmoon Valley played a significant role in the events leading up to the destruction of Draenor and the creation of Outland. It was here that the orcish shaman Ner'zhul began to tamper with dark powers, ultimately leading to the opening of numerous unstable portals and the cataclysmic demise of his world.

After Draenor's destruction, a shattered version of the planet, known as Outland, remained. Shadowmoon Valley on Outland is a desolate and dangerous zone, still bearing the scars of its past. It is inhabited by various hostile creatures, including demons, corrupted elementals, and remnants of the orcish clans who succumbed to the fel's influence. Despite its grim nature, Shadowmoon Valley remains a place of historical importance within the Warcraft lore, representing a pivotal turning point in the orcs' tragic history.
