In contemporary technical language, shërbues also translates as server, the component in computing that provides services to clients. In technical Albanian, phrases include shërbues i ueb-it (web server), shërbues i të dhënave (data server).

Etymology and grammar: The word is formed from the verb shërbej "to serve" with the agent noun suffix -ues. It is masculine in gender; the definite singular is shërbuesi and the definite plural shërbuesit; the indefinite form is një shërbues.
