Severan
Severan refers to the Severan dynasty, a Roman imperial house that ruled the empire from 193 to 235 CE. The term is used for people, events, and artifacts associated with Septimius Severus and his descendants. Septimius Severus, a general of Libyan-Punic origin from Leptis Magna, seized power after the Year of the Five Emperors and founded the dynasty. He reigned 193–211 and consolidated authority through military strength and administrative reforms. He designated his sons Caracalla and Geta as co-emperors, though Geta was murdered by Caracalla in 211, who then ruled alone until his death in 217.
