Setissä

Setissä is a Finnish noun form meaning “in a set.” It derives from setti, a word with several related senses: a collection or group of items (a set or kit), a workout sequence consisting of repetitions, a stage or film/TV production set, and more generally any complete assortment. The inessive case (-ssä) marks location or state, so setissä translates roughly as “inside a set” or “on the set,” depending on context.

In everyday Finnish, setti can refer to both a physical collection of objects and to situations such as gym sets or theatrical/film sets. For example, kan setti could mean a dinnerware set, while a gym context might speak of doing three sets, though in that sense speakers more often use the plural form and the word sarja rather than setti. In the context of film and theatre, setti commonly refers to the production set.

Grammatically, setti is a regular -i noun in Finnish. The singular inessive form is setissä, while the plural inessive is setteissä. Other common inflectional forms include setin (genitive) and settiä (partitive).
