Sestari is a fictional city-state and archipelago nation created for world-building and speculative fiction. It is situated on the eastern fringe of the imagined continent of Verdea and comprises several main islands and numerous smaller islets. The capital and largest urban center is Serata, a coastal city known for its harbor.

Geography and climate: The archipelago covers about 4,000 square kilometers. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters, warm summers, and frequent coastal winds. The terrain combines low-lying plains, mangrove inlets, and rolling hills inland.

History: Early settlements formed around trade routes in the medieval era. By the 15th century, Sestari coalesced into a maritime republic and maintained autonomy through guild networks and navies. A constitutional framework was adopted in 1902, and the nation joined a regional federation in 1967.

Politics and governance: Sestari operates as a parliamentary republic. It has a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. Elections are held every five years, and local councils govern the islands within a devolved framework.

Economy and society: The economy is diversified, with strengths in maritime trade, fisheries, shipbuilding, tourism, and light manufacturing. The currency is the sestari (SD). The population includes coastal communities and inland towns, with a cultural emphasis on trade and sea stewardship.

Culture: The Sestari language is official alongside minority languages. Cultural life centers on markets, festivals, and maritime heritage. Cuisine blends seafood with citrus and herbs.
