A seostatut, as a theoretical construct, would aim to cover multiple facets of maritime law, including jurisdiction over territorial seas and exclusive economic zones, rights to resources on or beneath the seabed, environmental protection, biodiversity preservation, shipping and safety, fisheries, mining, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
