Seondeoks
Seondeok of Silla (552–647 CE) was the 29th ruler of the Korean kingdom of Silla, reigning from 632 to 647 CE. She is widely regarded as one of the most influential and progressive monarchs in Korean history, known for her administrative reforms, cultural advancements, and efforts to strengthen Silla’s position in the Korean Peninsula.
Born as Princess Pyeongwon, she was the daughter of King Jinheung and Queen Seondeok’s mother, Queen Sindeok.
Her administration introduced significant reforms, including the establishment of a centralized bureaucracy and the implementation of
Seondeok’s legacy extends beyond her political achievements. She is celebrated in Korean culture as a symbol
Seondeok died in 647 CE, and her successor, Queen Jindeok, continued some of her policies. Though her
