Sendeje

Sendeje is a traditional rite of passage practiced by the fictional Kaledin people of the Sende Archipelago, a chain of islands described in the speculative geography of Neratha. The term is used to denote both the ceremony itself and the cultural process surrounding it, which centers on coming of age and the assumption of new social responsibilities within the community.
