Sektorordninger, or sector agreements in English, are collective bargaining agreements in Denmark that apply to specific industries or sectors rather than individual companies. These agreements are negotiated between trade unions and employer organizations and are legally binding for all employers and employees within the covered sector, regardless of whether they are members of the negotiating parties. The system is a key component of Denmark’s labor market model, which emphasizes cooperation between social partners to regulate working conditions.

Sektorordninger cover a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and services. They typically address wages, working hours, leave policies, and other employment terms. The agreements are designed to ensure fairness and consistency across industries while allowing for some flexibility based on sector-specific needs. Employers and employees within the same sector are generally required to adhere to the terms set by the sector agreement, though exceptions may apply in cases of collective opt-outs or individual negotiations.

The Danish labor market model relies heavily on sector agreements to maintain stability and reduce conflict.
