Sekretionssysteme, also known as secretory systems or secretion pathways, are cellular mechanisms responsible for the transport and release of molecules from a cell to its exterior or to specific cellular compartments. These systems are crucial for a wide range of biological processes, including intercellular communication, nutrient uptake, waste removal, and the construction of extracellular matrices.

In prokaryotic organisms, such as bacteria, sekretionssysteme are vital for secreting enzymes that break down external nutrients, toxins, and components that facilitate adhesion to surfaces or host cells.
