Seijts

Dr. Kevin C. Seijts is a Canadian academic administrator and organizational psychologist known for his contributions to leadership development and higher education. Born in 1960, Seijts earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Western Ontario, where he later became a prominent figure in both research and administration.

Seijts began his academic career as a professor at the Ivey Business School, a leading business school at the University of Western Ontario. His research focused on leadership, organizational behavior, and executive education, earning him recognition as a thought leader in these fields. He authored numerous articles and books, including *The Leadership Pipeline*, co-written with Ram Charan, which explores how organizations can develop leaders at all levels.

In 2007, Seijts was appointed as the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manitoba, becoming the first president of the institution since its founding in 1877. During his tenure, he oversaw significant growth in research funding, expanded international partnerships, and enhanced student experiences. His leadership emphasized innovation, sustainability, and community engagement, earning praise for his transformative approach to higher education.

Beyond academia, Seijts has served on various boards and advisory councils, including the Canadian Council of Chiefs of Police and the Canadian Association of University Teachers. He has also been involved in public policy discussions on education and leadership development.

Seijts stepped down as President of the University of Manitoba in 2020 and currently holds the position of Distinguished Professor Emeritus.
