Scorers

Scorers are individuals or systems that accumulate and record points, goals, or other measures of success in a game, competition, or assessment. In sports, a scorer can refer to a player who actively adds to the team's total by scoring, or to an official who logs scoring events for statistics and records. The term is common across many sports, and different sports use different units of scoring: goals in football (soccer), baskets or points in basketball, runs in cricket, and goals in ice hockey or field hockey, among others. The player with the most goals or points in a season is often called the top scorer or scoring leader, and many leagues designate a seasonal award for the leading scorer, such as the Golden Boot in association football or the league scoring title in basketball.

Official scorers are responsible for recording the events that determine final scores, validating plays, and compiling

Beyond sports, the term scorer can also describe a person who assesses responses in exams and tests,
