Scissurella

Scissurella is a genus of small sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Trochidae. The genus was first described by M. Smith in 1937. These snails are commonly found on the seafloor in coastal regions around the world, typically dwelling in areas with coarse sand or muddy sediment.

Several species of Scissurella are known, and they have some distinct characteristics. Typically, they have a bowl-shaped shell that is light-colored and spotted with indistinct patterns. In their development, snails of the Scissurella genus often show early signs of their morphology before achieving full form.

However, as invertebrate marine animals, they would be subject to general influences on marine ecology.
