Schroefmachine

Schroefmachine is a hand-held power tool used to drive screws into materials or to remove them. In Dutch usage, the term most often refers to an electric screwdriver or a cordless drill/driver, though it can also describe a manual screwdriver.

Common forms include manual screwdrivers, compact electric screwdrivers, and drill/drivers that combine drilling and screw-driving capabilities. Electric models are powered by corded mains electricity or rechargeable batteries. Features typically include a chuck or bit holder, interchangeable bits for common screw heads, adjustable torque or clutch, variable speed, and a reversible drive.

Operation and applications: The tool is used to fasten screws in wood, metal, plastic, and assemblies such as furniture, cabinetry, and electronics. A common practice is to set a low torque for pilot holes and high torque for final tightening; use appropriate bits to avoid cam-out.

Safety and maintenance: Use eye protection, ensure bit is secure, avoid overtightening, and do not use damaged tools. Keep bits and storage clean; charge batteries according to manufacturer instructions; store in dry conditions.
