Schraubenkopfs

Schraubenkopfs is a term sometimes used to refer to the heads of screws. In standard German, the correct plural is Schraubenköpfe, while Schraubenkopfs may appear in technical catalogs or as a brand name. The screw head is the component that accepts the driving tool and distributes the load from the screw into the material being fastened.

Head shapes vary to balance flushness, tool access, and bearing area. Common forms include Senkkopf (countersunk head), Linsenkopf (pan head), Rundkopf (round head), and Zylinderkopf (socket head). Each form has characteristic seating and load-bearing properties. Drive recess types include Slitschlitz (slotted), Phillips, Pozidriv, Torx, and hex socket (Inbusschraube or Innensechskant). Security variants with tamper-resistant drives also exist for specialized applications.

Heads are produced by forging, cold heading, or machining, and are often lubricated or coated to ease assembly and improve corrosion resistance. Common finishes include zinc plating, nickel or chrome plating, black oxide, and passivation for stainless steels.
