Schaumsystem

Schaumsystem is a German term used to describe systems that generate and control foam. The precise meaning depends on the field, but it commonly refers to equipment and procedures that mix a foaming agent with a liquid and distribute the resulting foam for a specific purpose, such as fire protection, cleaning, or mineral processing.

In fire protection, a Schaumssystem includes a foam concentrate, a proportioning device, a pump, piping, and nozzle or discharge devices; it creates a foam solution that blankets fires and cools surfaces.

In mining and mineral processing, foams are used in froth flotation; a Schaumssystem provides foam formation and stabilization with air, surfactants, and collectors to separate valuable minerals from gangue.
