Sarvodaya is a Sanskrit term that translates to "universal upliftment," "progress of all," or "everybody's welfare." It is a philosophy and movement that advocates for the well-being and progress of all members of society, emphasizing social justice, economic equality, and spiritual development. The concept is closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi, who adapted it from John Ruskin's book "Unto This Last."
