Sandshrew

Sandshrew is a Pokémon species from the Pokémon franchise. It is a bipedal, mammalian creature covered in tough, light-brown plates that resemble an armadillo's shell. It has a round body, short limbs, and a small, pointed tail. Sandshrew's most distinctive feature is its ability to curl into a ball for protection. This defensive maneuver makes it incredibly resistant to physical attacks.

Sandshrew are known to inhabit arid deserts and dry regions. They are often found digging in the sand for sustenance, which includes insects and small Pokémon. Their tough exterior protects them from the harsh sun and abrasive sand. When threatened, Sandshrew will quickly roll into a spiky ball, becoming an almost impenetrable defense against predators. This ability is often demonstrated in battles against other Pokémon.

The primary ability of Sandshrew is Sand Veil, which increases its evasion in sandstorms. In battle, Sandshrew is a Ground-type Pokémon, making it weak to Water and Grass-type attacks but resistant to Electric, Poison, Rock, and Fire-type moves. Its evolution, Sandslash, retains its Ground typing and gains enhanced defensive and offensive capabilities, featuring larger claws for digging and a more formidable armored appearance. Sandshrew was first introduced in the original generation of Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Blue.
