Samepronunciation
Samepronunciation is a linguistic concept describing the property that two or more lexical items share an identical phonetic form in a given language. What counts as identical depends on the dialect or accent being analyzed and on whether the analysis uses a phonemic representation (distinct sounds) or a phonetic transcription (actual sounds). Dialectal variation, stress patterns, and phonological processes can affect whether two items are treated as having the same pronunciation.
