SSRrelays are a type of solid-state relay that utilizes light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and phototransistors to achieve electrical isolation. In an SSRrelay, an input signal energizes an LED, which emits light. This light is then detected by a phototransistor on the output side, triggering a switching element like a TRIAC or MOSFET to control the load circuit. This optical coupling provides a high degree of isolation between the control and load circuits, protecting sensitive control electronics from voltage spikes and noise present in the load circuit.
