SMARTform

SMARTform is a term used to describe a class of digital forms designed to adapt to user input and context to improve data collection efficiency. It encompasses interactive, rules-based form systems that render differently according to responses, platform, and permissions, and that integrate with backend data sources.

Its core features include conditional logic that reveals or hides fields, calculated fields, auto-completion, and real-time validation. Forms typically bind to databases, ERP or CRM systems, or web APIs to submit data and fetch updates. Many implementations support offline operation, mobile responsiveness, accessibility (WCAG), localization, and audit trails for versioning and traceability.

Technical approaches vary, but SMARTform concepts rely on standards-based definitions and engines that separate form design from data processing.
