Säätösolenoidit

Säätösolenoidit, known in English as control solenoids or modulating solenoids, are electro-mechanical devices used to control the flow of fluids, typically liquids or gases. Unlike simple on/off solenoid valves, säätösolenoidit offer proportional control. This means they can precisely regulate the amount of fluid passing through them, rather than just opening or closing a passageway completely.

The operation of a säätösolenoid relies on an electromagnet. When an electrical current is applied to the solenoid coil, it generates a magnetic field. This field acts upon a movable plunger or armature, which is mechanically linked to a valve mechanism. By varying the current supplied to the coil, the strength of the magnetic field can be adjusted. This, in turn, allows for fine-tuned positioning of the plunger and thus a variable opening of the valve, controlling the fluid flow rate.

Säätösolenoidit find application in a wide range of systems where precise fluid control is critical. Examples include automotive systems for fuel injection and transmission control, industrial automation for process control in manufacturing, and HVAC systems for regulating refrigerant flow or air dampers. Their ability to provide granular control makes them essential for optimizing performance, efficiency, and safety in many technical applications.
