Röntgenkideoskopii refers to a medical imaging technique that combines fluoroscopy with a video recording system. In this procedure, X-rays are passed through the body, and the resulting images are captured by an image intensifier and then converted into a video signal. This allows for real-time visualization of internal structures and their movement. The term "Röntgen" originates from Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the discoverer of X-rays, and "kideoskopii" is derived from "kideo" (image) and "scope" (to view).

The primary advantage of Röntgenkideoskopii over standard fluoroscopy is the ability to record the entire examination. This recorded video can then be reviewed, analyzed, and shared for diagnostic purposes or educational training. It is particularly useful in procedures where continuous dynamic imaging is essential, such as barium studies of the gastrointestinal tract, angiography (imaging of blood vessels), and orthopedic examinations of joint movement. The recorded images can be played back at different speeds or frozen to highlight specific details.
