Részvénypiacon

Részvénypiacon refers to the stock market in Hungarian. It is a financial marketplace where shares of publicly traded companies are bought and sold. These shares, also known as equities, represent ownership in a corporation. When an investor buys a share, they become a partial owner of that company. The value of a share is determined by supply and demand, influenced by factors such as company performance, industry trends, economic conditions, and investor sentiment.

The primary function of the stock market is to facilitate capital raising for companies and to provide investment opportunities for individuals and institutions. Companies issue shares to raise funds for expansion, research and development, or debt repayment. Investors, in turn, can profit from their investments through capital appreciation (selling shares for more than they paid) or dividends (a portion of the company's profits distributed to shareholders).

Major stock markets operate globally, with prominent examples including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Nasdaq, London Stock Exchange, and Tokyo Stock Exchange. In Hungary, the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) is the main regulated market for trading securities. The stock market can be a volatile environment, with prices fluctuating daily. Investing in the stock market carries inherent risks, as the value of investments can go down as well as up, and investors may not get back the amount they invested.
