Rännorna
Rännorna, which translates to "the gutters" or "the ditches" in Swedish, is a geographical feature found in certain regions of Sweden, particularly in agricultural areas. These are essentially drainage channels or ditches that are dug to manage water flow in the landscape. Historically, and even currently, rännorna play a crucial role in preventing waterlogging of fields and facilitating agricultural productivity. They collect surface water runoff from rain and snowmelt, channeling it away from arable land and towards natural water bodies like streams or lakes, or to designated drainage systems.
The construction and maintenance of rännorna are often community efforts, especially in rural settings where cooperation
